MURAYAMA Ruriko  Solo exhibition
“The work and the situation”

As the situations change people, they also change art.
Art which is privately created by a person in a town (Locally),
across various bordars, associating with change,
commonly shared in-depth of individuals (globally).
What is the definition and meaning of beauty?  What elements determine its value?
People who wonder themselves and act along with ther own anntena, in Kanazawa as the situation, are conneted and networked together with art, and then?
We will experience certain chain which is induced by art.

Old junks,pens,records,hair accessories,plates,clothes,laces,mirrors,bags,scarves and so on.
Getting donation “the beauty” from creative people who have their own
taste and craft them or shop owners in kanazawa.
From peoples in Kanazawa to Artgummi and to the exhibition.
Those goods will be sold with each episodes or their profiles at the flea market
to support the spring Murayama art exhibition.
What makes us feeling beauty? What determine values of stuffs?
What stuffs will be collected by various individual’s thoughts for beauty?
From people in kanazawa to Artgummi and to the exhibition.
Through attractive and aesthetic people in Kanazawa, with various stuffs and human linking
together, create new encounter and the exhibition.

▌1year anniversary talk event “ths Shock by the alternative “

“Alternative” individuals and organizations who engage with art
by finding social gaps, connect them, quicken them,
and independent of existing concepts and systems.
What will be the impact to art industry by them
in the global wave of alternative activities forcusing on community and art?
Should artist belong to Gallery? What will be role of Museum, Gallery, artist?
What will be art that take root in community?
By running over mechanism of art industry, through eyes of Museum, artist, gallery,
enterprise, seek for future possibility of alternative.

SHINBO Hiroshi SculptureExhibition
“HITOGATA  GATARI”

A boy wanted a vinyl doll of Tiger Mask ( Hero of Japanese manga ).
He finally got it then he slept together with the doll from the first night.
The smell of the fresh vinyl doll was etched into his nose and
the memory retained long time.

Before I know, my impression is that I was fascinated by HITOGATA (Figure).
When I was in the kanazawa College of Art, I was more interested in
the drama rather than Art.
After graduated the college, I entered an under-ground drama group
in Tokyo and spent my time as actor for a few years.

Even today, after I moved back to sculpture from the drama, I am
spinning out images of HITOGATA by picturing drama space having
the extraordinary in the ordinary.
HITOGATA is an actor on stage in my delusional stories.
It may appear in opening or in finale.
The leading character exists in vague stories without having concluded scenario.
You audiences are expected to compose the scenario by facing
the HITOGATA then the story will be completed.

I am the boy who slept with holding his vinyl Tiger mask.
Now, the boy grown and creates HITOGATA as his hero and continue to
seek his ease/ contentment/ peace of mind.

▍Concept
There are a lot of customs or traditions in Kanazawa to inherit and
this time, we focus on a custom of Kanazawa-style weddings
celebrating the 1st anniversary of Omi-cho market plaza (1F).
Omi-cho market has a long history as the kitchen of the citizens.
In the market, there are shops dealing “Hanayome-Noren”
(Colorful Yuzen is dyed silk curtain specially for wedding) ,
traditional Japanese sweet cakes and steamed fish cakes for wedding.
Whole traditional wedding procedure starting from “Yuinou”(Ceremonial exchange
of engagement gifts) to “Butsudan mairi”(Family Budist altar service by bride),
will be exhibited by displaying related actual stuffs and panels.

Transitions of Kaga-Yuzen and family crests through 1960~Today will be lectured.

Lecturer: Mr. KOBAYASHI, Tadao, a professor of future learning at Hokuriku university
Theme “A custom of Kanazawa-style weddings”
Inheritance of ethnic aesthesis of art in Kanazawa from Edo-era will be lectured
by referring the book (Kanazawa, memory of the town and the 5 senses ) written by Mr. Kobayashi.

Theme “Crests of Kaga Yuzen”
Referring many original pictures to produce Kaga-Yuzen, through the history
(Edo era – modern age – Today), transition of Kaga-Yuzen pattern will be lectured
with comments for the Hanayome-Noren exhibited.

DANCE PERFORMANCE

Contemporary Dancers in Kanazawa make the original dance in the gallery as their studio.
It theme is “HANA” (Brilliance/ Luxuriance).  In the elegant space, the dance ( physical and mental )
and the wedding culture resonant each other and “Wa” (Harmony) with “HANA” will be created.

Dancer：
NAKAMURA, Kurumi  http://d.hatena.ne.jp/twoyeiw/
Contemporary dancer born in Kanazawa in 1989.
Graduated from RAMBERT SCHOOL (UK) in 2008.
Kurumi was chosen for the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program
for Artists in 2007. Now she’s dancing in Japan and Europe.

FUJII,Nozomi
Born in 1986.
Graduated from RAMBERT SCHOOL (UK) in 2008.
Nozomi is an apprentice to Noizm, a dance company directed by Jyo Kanamori
in Niigata prefecture from 2007 to July 2009. She’s freelance dancer now.

MATSUDA,Momoyo
Started classical ballet at age 5.
She appears in many performances at Tokyo and Ishikawa,
Acted in the dance performances of 50th anniversary of the sister-city
between Paris and Kyoto and of co-hosting of Kyoto art center. She’s freelance dancer now.

Born in Toyama prefecture.
He teached himself music and established his style taking in ambient music.
Now he’s acting to collaborate with various arts including videos and photos.

▍Concept

“Muvigummi” is the exhibition to transmit and discover video artists
in the Hokuriku area.It’s held in every autumn and this year,
we shows video works of public offering and of guests who are associated with the Hokuriku Area.
During the exhibition time, we conducts popularity vote on the works of public offering
at the gallery and  on the web.
Of the top 3 artists will receive a Muvigummi prize at the party.
The works of the top 3 artists will be exhibited during extended period as ” M09R”.
We make a chance to expess or discover video arts and young artists in the Hokuriku area to the world.
Futhermore, by deciding the prizes in a popularity poll,we create an opportunity that “citizens criticize art “.
